Khonia
The word khonia is derived from the ancient Indo-Iranian word ‘Kanyah’, and means an unmarried girl/a bride. Interesting, similar words can be found in other languages. For instance, the word ‘กันยา‘ (ganyaa) in Thai, and កញ្ញា ‘kanya’ in Khmer, have the same linguistic origin.
