Goru
The word ‘goru’ comes from the Sanskrit word ‘गोरूप‘ (gorupa), denoting something which is shaped like a cow.
Here are some examples of the Sylheti word ‘goru’:
- Iḍor ḍino amra ekhta goru zobor khorsi – On Eid day we slaughtered a cow.
- Goru fala – To raise a cow.
- Gorur ḍuḍ – Cow’s milk.
